Mico was first established during the 1940’s when Minnesota Automotive acquired and dissolved the Mankato Industrial Company (MICO) and brought them under their name. In 1974, Minnesota Automotive brought together all their segments in North Mankato and began selling full power braking components. In 1982, the company renamed themselves Mico, Inc. and then began acquiring various businesses and establishing joint ventures. Throughout the 2000’s, Mico expanded with a plant in Mexico, as well as received their ISO 14001 certification. In 2016, Mico was acquired by WABO, though it continues to develop and sell brake control systems and other components.
Mico has partnered with John Deere and NASON. Mico has no known subsidiaries and is a subsidiary of Wabco.
